Carlson's Fishery ~ 109-year-old business is modernizing

Bringing a traditional fishery operation to a modern level of production, while still maintaining the historic characteristics is a challenge. But, Nels Carlson & Joe Campo, co-owners of Carlson's Fishery in Leland, continue to make improvements and additions to the historic business since purchasing it in 2012. While modern ways of doing business help the bottom line, the pair agrees that the original Fishtown shanty will continue to remain the 'face' of Carlson's Fisheries.

Nels, fifth generation of the Carlson's family to run this 109-year-old Fishtown business, and his childhood friend Joe Campo worked summers at Carlson's since they were teenagers. The pair not only understands every facet of the fishery business, but also honor the historic and community value of the fishing industry in Leland's Fishtown.

Carlson's Fishery is not only an anchor at Leland's waterfront, but loved by both locals and visitors! Read this recent Ticker article.
