The 2009 Leland Wine and Food Festival poster features a Leelanau County vineyard scene by oil landscape artist, Carla Sutton. Carla is a past winner of the Leelanau Peninsula Vintners Commemorative Print Competition. She frequently uses the natural beauty of northern Michigan as the subject of her paintings. This particular painting depicts the Boskydel Vineyard.
Sutton, a Kendall School of Design graduate, summers in the Northport area with her husband. Her paintings can be found in private and corporate collections in the Midwest and across the United States. Most recently, three of her paintings have been jury-selected for inclusion in a soon-to-be-published book by the Saugatuck Center for the Arts and the Saugatuck Dunes Coastal Alliance.
Posters may be purchased online here or at the 24th Leland Wine and Food Festival on Saturday, June 13th from noon to 6 p.m. Proceeds from poster sales will help support the Leland Chamber of Commerce and its special projects such as the annual July fireworks and Leland Education Association programs.
