Our Mission: Conserving the Land, Water and Scenic Character of Leelanau County. In 1988 the Leelanau Conservancy opened its doors with a big dream and a small group of individuals dedicated to the idea that the Leelanau Peninsula is a place that deserved our best efforts to protect its unique landscapes. Since then, we have launched a farmland preservation program, established a renowned water-quality monitoring program and created 23 Natural Areas. Stunning views, sensitive wetlands, and working farms have been forever protected. With over 4,000 donors annually backing us, the Conservancy is ensuring that Leelanau natural lands and farmland will endure for future generations.
Courageous Thinking improves and optimizes the way people think about their organizations and lives in order to create more innovative, efficient and excellent ways to exist. We facilitate a transformational inquiry process, which challenges clients to examine and assess their foundation and current trajectory in order to design a future of leveraged sustainable success. Engaging in this process changes the way a company thinks, the way people interact and the way decisions are made. Leaders are enabled to identify and manage risk, leverage opportunities, build trust, eliminate waste and deliver powerful consistent communication.
The Leelanau Children's Center is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and a leader in high-quality early childhood education and family support programming. LCC is one of less than 3% of preschool programs to be given the highest five-star rating by the Michigan Department of Education. Young children and families from all backgrounds and needs flourish at the Leelanau Children's Center, in an environment that nurtures relationships and developmentally appropriate, play-based learning. Only in early childhood do we have the opportunity to develop the thinking skills and social/emotional readiness that set the stage for a fulfilling and productive life.

The North Manitou Shoal Light is an offshore lighthouse in Leelanau County, Michigan. It sits one mile offshore of North Manitou Island, and eight miles from Leland, Michigan.
